The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chance’s Love – Sharon or Summer Will Succeed?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) just started a romantic relationship with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

But Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) appears to be interested in him as well.

Sharon’s tie to Chance links to his being her husband’s late partner on the Genoa City, Wisconsin, police force.

While they were not long-term co-workers, Chance bonded with Rey and considered him to be a mentor.

Chance took over as GC’s lead detective after Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) tragically died in a car accident.

He and Sharon commiserated about that loss and built their friendship since then.

Why create an entire family, the Rosales’, and then eliminate them? It made no sense to do so. Yet, the family was originally fronted by Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela).

Mia Rosales (Sasha Calle), Rey’s ex-wife, Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez), and the heads of the Rosales family, their parents, Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue), and Adrian Rosales (Jay Montalvo), followed.

But one by one, all of them were written off-screen. Mentions were made of the family, with Mia moving back to Miami, Florida, where her parents were living, and Mateo Rosales (no actor cast for this role), was referenced as being Arturo and Mia’s baby.

Getting rid of Rey also dovetailed with TPTB deemphasizing the GCPD, which went against the show’s history and a proper sense of reality.

That went along with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) last being shown with Rey and only recently being mentioned as having retired as Police Chief and moving to Portugal, as he and his wife, Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) separated.

In recent years, Sharon beat cancer. Rey stood strong by her side during that uplifting storyline.

She also earned a degree and became a certified counselor, while remaining owner of Crimson Lights.

Case’s character recently put an end to Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) and was surprised to inherit his company, Kirsten Incorporated.

Coupling with Chance seemed like the next natural step in Sharon’s restored good life. But daytime is about drama, so a rivalry with Summer could be ahead.

Summer was staggered by the sudden loss of her husband. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) holds no compassion in his heart for his wife having protected her mother.

The Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) issue continues to play out, with Summer and Kyle’s marriage in peril because of it. But Summer is regaining her bearings and will rebound.

Viewers saw that Summer would like to explore something more than friendship with Chance.

How he responds will determine whether that potential pairing replaces the one he has with Sharon on Y&R.
