General Hospital Spoilers: Austin’s Warning Leaves Laura Wondering Why He Cares

General Hospital spoilers tease Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) barely knows Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis), and now he’s about to insert his foot into his mouth in a way that may come back to haunt him. It’s not clear yet how Austin will come across Laura’s path, but she’s going to run into the guy before she packs her bags and heads to Russia with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).

What kind of warning might he have for her? Will he try to thwart her determination to find Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) and persuade her to stay on American soil where she is safe? Whatever Austin’s warning may be, it’s going to make its mark on Laura — not because she takes it seriously, because she’ll be left wondering why he has an opinion at all on her travel plans.

General Hospital Spoilers — Austin Issues a Word of Caution

While some fans think Austin is going to caution Laura against traveling to a war-torn country, it’s also possible that he may try to appeal to her on a more psychological level. What if she doesn’t find Nikolas? What if this entire trip is a wasted effort that gets her hopes up only to leave her feeling defeated as she comes home without her son? What if this is a trap — set by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), himself — to get Laura, Kevin, and Valentin into Chechnya where they may never be able to leave?

GH Spoilers Say a Romance is Brewing

Laura won’t have much time to mull over her confusion as to why Austin is so invested in how she spends her time. But as she reflects upon it, she may come to notice there is a romance budding between Austin and Ava Jerome (Maura West), her former daughter-in-law. So, this begs the question: are Austin’s concerns really his own, or was he speaking on Ava’s behalf and trying to manipulate Laura for some reason? Why would Ava want to deter Laura from finding Nikolas? Does she know something Laura doesn’t?

General Hospital Spoilers — No One is Home

Unfortunately, rumor has it Laura is not going to find her son in Russia. That is going to affirm Ava’s concerns that her ex-husband really is dead – and she killed him. Remember, Ava has no idea that Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) is actually nursing Nikolas back to health. We haven’t seen him for a moment, though, so it’s possible that Nikolas is already up and walking and talking these days.

But where is he? Is he being held captive? Is he living out his best days on his Uncle Victor’s dime? Is he avoiding Port Charles to evade the police? All of these questions will come to mind when Laura finds the property Victor bequeathed to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) empty. As she reflects on her trip, and goes back to the drawing board, she won’t be able to shake the way Austin made her feel — as though he was forewarning her that she wouldn’t find anything in that house.
