Alex is always fearful that Theresa and Brady could reconcile, sensing they still have feelings for each other, and the stressful situation with their son could make them closer.

Neither Brady or Theresa have been honest with each other or even themselves about their lingering feelings and blamed their sharing a child. But when Alex walked in on them kissing and saw it with his own eyes, it’s a nightmare for insecure Alex.

They’re both embarrassed, naturally, when Alex walks in on them and asks what the heck is going on. Brady leaves, and Theresa tries to explain things to Alex, but honestly, the excuse isn’t really all that good.

Theresa tells Alex that the kiss with Brady just kind of happened, but it meant nothing, but Alex doesn’t completely trust her.

His lack of faith in her and their relationship moves her to take a stance-she says it might be time for her to move out. That shocks Alex, who immediately starts trying to persuade her to stay-he’s invested in this relationship and he’s going to fight for it.

He’s not just going to give up on it and he wants to try to make things work-or, it could just be his fragile male ego talking. He considers telling Brady that Theresa told him that kiss meant nothing to make sure he knows it, justifying it to himself.

A guilty Theresa almost lets it slip to Alex about his not really being Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) son, but she chickens out, and instead rambles on.

She keeps on saying what a mess she is, and he admits he’s not perfect either and has a good sized serving of crow in doing so. He realizes Theresa is broken in a lot of ways and chocks her failure with Brady up to that, and besides, he understands her.

He knows she’s done some really rotten things, whereas he’s been more of just a slick businessman who isn’t always the most ethical in his business dealings. He shows her he trusts her, which he probably shouldn’t, and the two make up as she decides whether to go or stay.
