Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has concluded that her father’s actions are connected points that reflect symptoms of something being wrong. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has come to feel the same way.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who was skeptical of his sibling’s concerns, is also experiencing unusual interactions with Victor, which pushes the developing plot.

While their long history as a couple has not always been smooth, Victor trusts his wife at this point. So, he told her that the comment to Adam, where he called him Nicholas, was intentional.

Nikki was not on board with Victor’s cruel plan. She was bothered by it on multiple levels, not believing Victor distrusts Victoria who is his co Chief Executive Officer.

Knowing Victor better than anyone, Nikki is thrust into an untenable position. If he furthers this ruse for an extended period, Nikki will need to decide if she has to expose his behavior and risk marital strife.

Feeling the need to separate from Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) would have been more than enough for Nick to deal with. He remains in love with her and is looking ahead to potential engagement, marriage, and children.

Nick initially discounted his sister’s concerns, believing she was bitter about being demoted. However, Victoria repeated what she recently told him and asked Nick to reconsider.

Victor is teased to tell Nick that Adam and Sally are having a child. Nick is shocked because the miscarriage happened in the recent past, with this incident seeming to confirm Victoria’s concerns.

If Victor is still mentally competent, then his behavior is abhorrent. It appears as though he wants to provoke his children into uniting by making himself a target, with an eventual reveal to them being the last part of his plan.

However, the toll of events, combined with health factors may be influencing Victor’s behavior.

This is a compelling storyline because the audience does not know if Braeden’s character is slipping and if so, what the implications of that will be on Y&R.
