The Young and the Restless spoilers have fans wondering why Nikki Newman hates Sharon Newman so much. It started with the flashback episode on Friday, December 29.

The throwback episode showed the New Year’s Eve party from 2003. Nikki scolded Sharon for forgetting about the food. She then arranged for help, to which Sharon thanked her. Nikki said she was doing it for the sake of the party, not because she cares about Sharon.

The user MrsValentine asked on the SoapCentral.com Message Boards: “Why does Nikki dislike Sharon? After watching the classic episodes, and watching for about a dozen years, I still don’t understand why Nikki dislikes Sharon. Did Sharon do something horrible to Nikki?”

Y&R fans took to the thread to share their thoughts. Most assumed that the reason why Nikki didn’t like Sharon was because of Sharon’s history with the men of Genoa City.

Some fans claimed that she’s been with more men than Nikki has. Others argued they were on the same playing field when it comes to their track record.

One user wrote: “Slept and married 3 brothers and also married Victor… she has always thought less of Sharon… and she thought her to be a gold digger… there was a scene early on with Sharon prancing around the ranch dreaming of it ALL being hers one day.”

Another fan wrote: “Didn’t Sharon marry Victor when she was suffering a bipolar episode? And Sharon didn’t force Victor or his sons/stepson into marriage?”
