The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) can not get along with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Despite his repeated attempts at having a brotherly relationship, Nick defaulted to his stance of not wanting contact with his younger brother.

Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) creation of an elaborate ruse, where he wanted his children to believe he was suffering from mental decline, is brilliant. But it is also extremely devious and potentially destructive.

The Moustache told Nick that he trusted him. Whether that is true remains to be seen because Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) also heard the word trust used when Victor used him.

Nick does not want Adam to be given his millionth-second chance. But that is exactly what Victor appears to be doing in having him serve as Nate’s assistant.

However, Nick did not know his father was in the midst of a real-life chess game where he was moving his children on an imagined board. So, creating a drawing with Nick, Victoria, and Adam’s names forming the serpent’s tail was purposeful.

Victor used to read Nick a childhood story and created the drawing to send a message to his firstborn son. Braeden’s character does not appear to want Nick to learn the truth at this point in his plot and is adjusting to the anticipating that Morrow’s character will alert Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

No, it does not appear that Adam is trying to fool Victor, his siblings, or most importantly, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Viewers have seen Adam in multiple scenes where he has been genuinely disturbed by his father’s behavior. He recently came clean to Sally, telling her that he was scamming Victor by pretending to be redeeming himself.

Sally looked into Adam’s eyes and said she believed he was telling the truth.

Victor believes Adam may attempt to take advantage of his supposed mental decline to try and seize power at Newman Enterprises. So, he is playing off Adam’s craven desire for power.

But the tactic with Victoria is different. Victor purposefully provoked her through the demotion and since to see if she would snap back. He assumed Victoria would respond as he did to real and perceived threats.

Nick has become the facilitator, with his reveal to Victoria about their father heightening Victor’s extremely devious game on Y&R.
