The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will surprise his sister Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) recently suggested that he and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) move into the Chancellor mansion to cut down stress on Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (River and Rainn Ware).

Chance brought Dominic to Devon’s penthouse where he and Abby now live but still share custody with Chance; he noted that Dominic seems to be disturbed by the constant traveling. It had been Chance’s turn to have Dominic, but he was called in on a new case and so he brought him back. Chance suggested to eliminate the disruption to Dominic’s schedule that Devon and Abby should move into the Chancellor mansion, he’d get an apartment near the police station.

Both Devon and Abby had been taken aback, and Devon told Chance he’d have to think about it. Devon had spent many years in that penthouse, with memorabilia of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and special musical décor everywhere, and where Neil had passed away while taking a nap.

Y & R Spoilers: Good Memories But Bad Memories Too

There had been good memories made in that penthouse, but bad memories too, as that was also where he’d practically had a shrine to Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan). She and Neil had not died all that far apart, compounding grief upon grief on Devon, and of course when Neil died Lily had grieved as well. Devon definitely has a lot of emotional attachments to that penthouse, and it’s also the place where Abby’s marriage and Devon’s relationship broke up. Chance and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) had walked in on Devon and Abby after a sudden and unexpected flurry of passion, catching them in the act.

After talking it over, Abby and Devon decide for Dominic’s sake, the move to the mansion makes a lot of sense. Devon’s memories, good and bad are attached to the penthouse but Abby also has some good and bad ones attached to the mansion, since she lived there when Chance disappeared. But they both decide Chance’s idea may actually be an emotionally healthy thing to do for both of them, and definitely better for the baby.

First they contact Chance and tell them they’re taking him up on his idea, and start making preparations. Then, Devon meets with Lily and tells her what their plans are, and offers her the penthouse; Lily is surprised and shocked, but understands.
