The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) determination to produce another fashion line would normally be a cause for celebration. But he took Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) reaction to that intent to heart.

Ridge did not plan for his father to surprise him by saying he wanted to design again. That would have been okay if it could have fit into a schedule, maybe sometime after Christmas and the New Year.

Eric feels the need to prove himself after being on the sidelines in recent years. But, as Ridge said, McCook’s character decided to step back from the business so he and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) could run it.

All areas of Forrester Creations have been running smoothly on all cylinders recently. Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) return to the family fold reignited Hope for the Future.

So, all parts of the famous fashion business are doing well. With that, Ridge sees no need to rock the soapy boat. But Eric does not agree.

Without anyone’s knowledge, Eric has been dealing with arthritis issues that left him unable to draw effectively.

It is easy to speculate that Eric might be affected by the early stages of dementia. But the storyline is being written in such a way that he might not be affected by that issue, either.

However, if he is, that is not something that will be cured. Eric could be diagnosed with it and then go through a long process, or it could go more quickly if the actor is planning to retire, which hopefully is not the case.

With whatever is true, TPTB are crafting an intriguing story that pits Eric and some members of the family, starting with RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman), on one side and Ridge on the other. That is a good soapy premise.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Ridge Forrester Changes His Tune

Ridge is so consumed with day-to-day business matters, especially with Steffy having taken her children and left the country to try and ward off Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), that he has not noticed the changes in Eric’s behavior. But other characters have.

Inevitably, Ridge will recognize that Eric wants to prove himself for a reason. Eric defining his latest line as a final collection feels ominous, as though he knows his clear time is limited on B&B.
