General Hospital Spoilers: Spencer Spies a Bit of Courtney in Esme and Can’t Shake It

General Hospital Spoilers report the tension was palpable when Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) actually shared a laugh together recently. When Spencer came home from his scuffle with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) — clearly injured and in pain — Esme rushed to the rescue.

Doting on him as any mother figure would may have led Spencer to see her in a bit of a different light. In fact, much of her behavior as of late has opened his eyes to who she is now. Spencer can’t shake the fact that he sees the new and improved Esme coming out and into her own. He may not like the situation, and he may still hate her for the things she did to him in the past, but he can’t say that she is a bad mother to Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) — or trust us, he would have by now.

General Hospital Spoilers — Spencer and Esme Could Bond Soon

It looks like the tides may be turning for these two. It’s such a perfect time for Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) to have left town — arguably they’ll be gone for a while. Spencer and Esme are mostly on their own, although Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight)will be around to check on them from time to time. Clearly, there wasn’t even much time for Spencer to spend with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) — as Esme and Ace just needed him too much. It sounds like that’s going to be the theme for them this summer. Will all of the shared alone time with Ace serve to bond Spencer and Esme in a way they don’t see coming?

GH Spoilers Tease Trina is on the Back Burner

Much like their most recent date night, Trina is going to find herself playing second fiddle to Ace’s needs. By default, that also means she’ll feel like she’s coming in second Esme. That’s not going to sit well with Trina, but there isn’t much she or Spencer can do about it. Moreover, it’ll start to look like Spencer doesn’t even think there’s a problem. Sure, he does want more time with his girlfriend — but not at the cost of his baby brother.

General Hospital Spoilers — Esme’s Maternal Instincts Appeal to Spencer

Esme could be working this to her advantage, noting that Ace is the primary tool she can use to keep Spencer in her orbit and Trina out of his. Still, the more time that Spencer spends alone with Esme and Ace, the more he’s going to come to see her for the loving mother that she is. That’s going to strike a specific nerve with Spencer, who grew up without his own mother, and longed for her his entire life. Will he change his view on what he had planned for Esme and start to think that perhaps it’s not in his baby brother’s best interest to rip his mother away from him?
