When Michael’s mother ruminated over his confession about having infiltrated his father’s business, she knew Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) must be in pretty bad shape to not have noticed his new right-hand man was an imposter. Michael may think paying Dex to do the dirty work will keep him out of harm’s way, but Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) isn’t necessarily going to agree with him.
After spending weeks in isolation, Willow is going to be eager to return home to her normal life with her family, and more importantly, with no cancer. Little does she know, Michael has been leading a double life. He might not see it that way though.
After all, Michael did nix his plans to turn his father in to the feds, and now he’s doing just the opposite — protecting his dad from being exposed or otherwise harmed. Still, when danger creeps into his business and the authorities go poking around, Willow is going to grow concerned that the paper trail to Dex could lead back to Michael — turning him over not only to his father, but to the police as well. It’s admirable that Michael wants to protect his father, but what about his wife and kids?
Willow could push Michael to cease his plan with Dex just as she did before, but he may not comply that easily this time around. Giving up and letting Dex go rogue on his own could have major consequences. He doesn’t know the history of Sonny’s business and enemies the way that Michael does.
He doesn’t even know Sonny the same way that Michael does. It is his knowledge of how his dad’s brain works and what makes him tick that makes Michael such a valuable asset in this scheme. Besides, if Michael walks away and Dex is forced to abandon the plan, it could leave not just Sonny’s business — but the entire family — at risk. Or so says Carly. Is that really what Willow wants?
Willow might balk at the idea of being married to a pseudo-mobster, but ultimately, fans don’t see her going anywhere. She took her vows seriously when she told Michael she would stand by him, for better or for worse. Okay, the second time anyway. He may have changed the terms of their marriage on her, but she’s always been the type to make lemonade out of life’s lemons. Besides, Michael won’t really travel down the same path that his father has, right? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to find out.
