General Hospital Spoilers: Ava Isn’t Letting Sonny In on Her Secret — She’s Luring Him Into a Trap

General Hospital spoilers reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) seems to have come clean to both her worst enemy and greatest ally — Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). In a moment of desperation, Ava knew she couldn’t entrust the safety of her child with Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini).

Her only other option was to tell Sonny the truth and pray he would help her. Agreeing to do so, Sonny left with plans in mind that he didn’t share with Ava, but she had plans of her own, too. Little does Sonny know, Ava was coming clean not to loop him in, but to lure him in. She’s got him right where she wants him right now — thinking he can trust her.

General Hospital Spoilers — Ava Came Clean

Ava knew she wasn’t going to convince Sonny his instincts were misfiring. He’s too sharp for that and she wasn’t about to insult his intelligence.

Instead, she let him have it. The whole truth, not holding back. All she withheld was her reason for doing so. She doesn’t need him to save her, rather, she needs him to think they’re on the same team. This move may disappoint a lot of Ava fans who want her to rise up and put her child ahead of herself for once. Sorry!

GH Spoilers Hint Austin Was In On It the Whole Time

Ava and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) may have already conspired on this front after their lunch date with Sonny and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) that didn’t quite go as planned. Sonny was confrontational from the start and seemingly didn’t trust Austin at all.

Put on the spot, he gave vague responses about his take on the doctor. In the midst of an already uncomfortable double date, an alleged former patient of Austin’s showed up to confront him much the same — and he would later wind up dead.

It’s quite possible that Sonny had the guy killed just to place the blame on Austin, but it’s also possible Austin took care of that business himself — and it left Sonny feeling validated in not trusting him.

General Hospital Spoilers — What Comes Next?

If Austin and Ava are working together to dupe Sonny, they might botch their whole plan in the process now that Sonny knows what Ava has done. Sure, it was a risk telling him she killed Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), but Austin may not be worried about being implicated in that if he knows Nikolas is still alive.

Moreover, Ava isn’t likely to be concerned if she thinks Sonny is going to be removed from the equation in the end. As long as he thinks he has to protect Ava from Austin, he may not notice what she is really up to. Is Betty even a threat, or is Ava the real hidden enemy?
