General Hospital spoilers suggest Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is going to be the saving grace Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) needs during his latest hardship. He was never expecting to end up behind bars at this stage in his life, though he was always realistic that it was a possibility.

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is worried sick about what may come from Sonny being in lock-up for so long, but Carly’s words may buy her some time.

Nonetheless, Nina was right all along. It was Carly who stepped in last time and made sure things went smoothly until Sonny could reprise his role in the business – something she never knew he would be able to do at the time.

Brock has been a solid ally for Sonny over the years, and he has formed a bond with his immediate family.

But he knows the threats up against Sonny, too, and he’s limited in what he can do for the don when he’s locked up long-term.

Besides, Brick is based on the West Coast and can’t drop everything else he is working on to try to hold Sonny’s empire together with tape and glue.

We can expect that Nina is going to be in no position to rise up and be the commander of Sonny’s territory that is needed in his absence.

Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) might be a great right-hand man, but he’s still no Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

The only suitable person with hands-on experience, relationships with the Five Families, and enough knowledge of Sonny’s business to keep it afloat is Carly — and she’s going to need more support than the still-novice Dex can offer.

When she pulls Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) into the fold, he’s not going to deny his mother the help she needs — even if Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) isn’t keen on it.
